AWB Ltd thermal imaging technology was employed again tonight to locate the source of ignition in a classroom at Nene Park Academy. A light fitting that had began combusting due to a faulty ballast was the cause of the fire.
Using our thermal imaging camera we were able to quickly pinpoint the exact location of the seat of the fire and make it safe whilst waiting for the fire brigade to attend and put out the fire. The above image shows the source of the fire, a light fitting running in excess of 270 degrees celsius.
Previously AWB's thermal imaging had detected a burning cable inside the trunking system just as it was about to melt the mains cable feeding the whole school. The fault had been found as a part of the schools previous electrical testing regime incorporating the thermal imaging survey for fire hazard detection.
AWB Ltd also utilise this technology for fault diagnosis on htg systems of all sizes including checking whether systems really do need power flushing., leak detection and energy loss surveys for all domestic, commercial, industrial and retail environments to identify heat and energy losses enabling clients to make substantial savings.
We are delighted to announce the completion of the construction of four new office suites at the Eventus Business incubation centre in Market Deeping.
The project was carried out on very tight timescales and was delivered ahead of schedule and on budget.
The prompt completion allowed tenants to move in to their new offices quicker than programmed and with no problems.
The transition from construction to occupation was seamless.
AWB Ltd are proud to announce completion of our recent two large projects.
The boiler replacement program saw us replace 6 of the schools 7 boilers, the project was completed ahead of schedule and on budget and is now saving approximately 55% on gas usage.
Staff and pupils have reported to us that the school has never been so warm yet the great news is they are making huge energy savings.
We have also just completed the final phase of the schools refurbishment of it's toilet blocks, again this project has delighted the school as it was completed successfully on time and on budget.
With the improvements to the lighting systems and water consumption using energy efficient light fittings with occupancy sensors, sensor taps and sensor urinal flushing devices the school will also see significant and real reductions in energy and water bills.
AWB Ltd are delighted to announce their selection as preferred supplier for the boiler replacement programme at Malcolm Sargent primary school in Stamford.
The project is another prestigious contract for AWB Ltd within the local authority and education sector.
We are also delighted to have been chosen by Bull & Co as their electrical and mechanical partner for the large toilet refurbishment programme being undertaken at the same school.
AWB are delighted to mark the arrival of their newest thermal imaging camera.
"This allows us to enhance the scope of our thermal imaging operation and increase the capacity for provision of this service" Said MD Andy Halfhide.
Thermal imaging has fast become one of the best tools in our portfolio with the large number of applications thermal imaging can be used for. we currently use thermal imaging for:-
FIRE HAZARD detection
Quickly and safely detecting overheating cables and electrical systems as well as finding faulty combustion seals and flues on heat generating appliances.
Many of our clients have yearly or six monthly checks carried out to satisfy there insurance companies.
Leak Detection
Under floors and in walls thermal imaging can find the source of hidden leaks which can damage your property and be very expensive to repair or trace manually.
Plant Maintenance
Allowing early detection of deteriorating mechanical plant saving substantially on emergency repairs and allowing clients to take control of their repair schedules.
Heating system fault diagnosis
Tracing blockages and airlocks as well as identifying deposits in systems.
Diagnosing problems and identifying underfloor heating.
Pipe work Identification/ location
Prevents costly leaks from nailing and screwing through pipework when fixing noisy floorboards.
Saving on expensive call outs and damage to property.
AWB Ltd were delighted to supply Electrical and Plumbing services to the recent partial refit of One Aldgate in the City of London.
The project was carried out on very short timescales given the impending Olympic games and the effects that would have on working in the city but the needs of our clients are always our top priority.
AWB Ltd have just completed the installation of the integrated intruder alert system for the warehouse security at one of the main Olympic sponsors distribution facilities.
The system allows our client to comply with LOCOG requirements for prevention of unauthorised access to the warehouse facility.
THERMAL IMAGING LEAK DETECTION SAVES MR J FROM PETERBOROUGH 1200.00!
Mr J from Peterborough had been quoted £1350 to have the ground floor of his house re piped because of a leak somewhere under his screeded floor. His combi heating system was losing pressure daily, the constant topping up meant his boiler was regularly in need of re dosing with inhibitor and somewhere in his ground floor was getting very wet which would eventually lead to damp issues.
AWB were recommended to Mr J by a satisfied customer who had previously suffered a similar problem.
Through the use of AWB's thermal imaging technology we were able to find the leaking pipe within minutes to a joint in the screeded floor in the new extension.
The total cost of the diagnosis and repair was £150.00 which delighted Mr J as it meant a real time saving of £1200.00 plus no disruption to any other parts of the house for re piping the system.
AWB have been appointed as the Gas, Heating and Hot and Cold water services suppliers to the hugely prestigious Bentley Priory development at Stanmore in North London.
Managing Director Andy Halfhide said.
